Arthur, Book Conservator & Director of Green’s Books.
Arthur started bookbinding in 2003 and graduated with distinction from a Post Graduate Diploma in Conservation from Camberwell College of Arts in 2008. He has worked at institutions including the Leather Conservation Centre, The British Library, Oxford Conservation Consortium, and Oxford University’s Bodleian Library. Arthur is particularly interested in the history of bookbinding and has published widely on the subject. He has lectured for organisations including the Archives & Records Association (ARA), the Institute of Conservation (ICON), Society of Bookbinders, and West Dean College of Arts and Conservation; and is currently Editor of Bookbinder, the Journal for the Society of Bookbinders.
Emily, Director of Green’s Books.
Emily is a Chartered Librarian with over fifteen years’ experience working in academic and heritage libraries. Librarian at The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, she has previously worked at institutions including Durham University, and University and Magdalen Colleges, Oxford. Emily brings her knowledge of historic libraries to Green’s Books and is particularly interested in private press books and historic book production.
Anna, Book Conservator.
Anna graduated from West Dean College in 2021 with a Graduate Diploma in Conservation Studies (Books & Library Materials). She has previously completed an MA in The English Country House, worked with the conservation team at Chatsworth House to preserve the Devonshire collections, and most recently as Apprentice Bookbinder & Book Conservator at Otter Bookbinding. Anna brings her keen interests in books and historic libraries to Green’s Books.
Em, Book Conservator.
Em recently graduated with a BA in Books and Paper Conservation from City and Guilds of London Art School. During her studies, she undertook placements for several organisations including the National Trust and National Conservation Service, as well as work with the team at Shepherds Fine Papers. This developed Em’s keen interest in binding and conservation materials and their impact on the mechanics of book structures.
